Coaching built on evidence

Lachie founded LSSC Coaching in 2024 after four years coaching clients across performance, general fitness and complex health needs. The name is plain on purpose Lachie Sutcliffe Strength & Conditioning because the offer is equally plain: one coach, accountable for your programme.

His route in was academic rather than commercial. Two undergraduate degrees, one in nutrition science and one in exercise science, followed by a masters in exercise physiology currently underway. That background is why LSSC takes on cases many coaches decline clients managing diabetes, recovering from cancer treatment, or reloading after injury.

The through-line across every client is the same: understand the person and their physiology first, then write the programme. Not the reverse.

Core Specialisations

Chronic Disease Management

Evidence-based exercise protocols for Type 2 diabetes, metabolic syndrome, kidney disease and oncology recovery.

Programming is built from current exercise physiology literature and adapted to your condition, medication and capacity. Coaching complements the care directed by your medical team; it does not replace it.

  • Type 2 diabetes & insulin sensitivity
  • Metabolic syndrome
  • Chronic kidney disease
  • Oncology recovery & reconditioning

Musculoskeletal Therapy

Structural strengthening, post-injury reloading and movement mechanics grounded in progressive overload.

Therapy work rebuilds tissue capacity in measured stages rather than rushing a return to load, so you come back more resilient than you were before the injury.

  • Post-injury reloading protocols
  • Tissue capacity restoration
  • Movement mechanics correction
  • Injury-risk reduction

Strength & Conditioning

Athletic longevity, power development and Hyrox-specific preparation.

Performance programming periodised around your event calendar and training age, balancing peak output against the durability that keeps you training for decades.

  • Hyrox race preparation
  • Power & force development
  • Athletic longevity
  • Conditioning periodisation

Coaching Philosophy

Progress is an adaptation problem, not a motivation problem. Sessions are dosed to what your body can currently absorb and progressed as capacity grows, which is slower than a bootcamp and considerably more durable. Four years of coaching and a complex caseload have made the case repeatedly: consistency applied to the right stimulus beats intensity applied to the wrong one.
